We currently have two clinics conveniently-located in Ferntree Gully and Brighton, VIC. Our practices also welcome patients who travel from further away in search of a Top-Quality, Reliable Family Dentist.

They certainly are! Keep in mind that many patients prefer to book their appointments after work hours or on Saturdays, so these appointment times usually book out a little more in advance.

For Eligible Children, we can offer Bulk-Billing of most Dental Services up to a $1000.00 limit, thanks to the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). As we are a Private Dental Clinic, Medicare does not Bulk-Bill Dental Treatment for adults and for children who are not eligible for CDBS benefits.

We can accept approved VEDS, DVS and TAC patients.

By attending Regular Dental Maintenance (Check-up & Clean) Appointments, as recommended by our Dentists and Dental Hygienists, we can educate you in how to take the best possible care of your teeth and therefore avoid unnecessary Dental Treatments. Any regular build-up (Calculus, Tartar, Plaque, Bacteria) can also be removed before it becomes problematic.

Our Highly-Skilled Professional Team can also spot issues before they become major problems (like a Tooth Ache, an Impacted Tooth or an Infection). In the long run, this will save you both time and money that you don’t need to waste!

At Melbourne Centre for Dentistry, we do not differentiate. We are pleased to try our best to treat all walks of life and have many happy patients with behavioural or cognitive issues, disabilities and debilitating anxiety who are successfully able to undergo treatments.

We have various types of Dental Sedation on hand, if required, including Nitrous Oxide (Happy Gas) and General Anaesthesia, which can sometimes be beneficial for certain patients.

As each individual’s needs are often quite different, please mention to our Reception staff the specifics of your or your child’s condition, so that we can have the best possible outcome for all involved.

Whilst we do not have an allocated car park for the Clinics, there is an abundance of Free Street Parking surrounding both the Brighton and Ferntree Gully Clinics. We suggest that you are mindful of the allocated parking times for whichever spot you do choose and allow a few extra minutes prior to your appointment to find a suitable parking space.

We offer many solutions at Melbourne Centre for Dentistry, to help put you at ease within our clinic. If you think that Dental Sedation may help you or your child to be more comfortable during a procedure, please talk to us today about our Dental Sedation Options and which may be the best for you.

We can provide ‘Happy Gas’ (Nitrous Oxide) Sedation, for those who would like a bit of extra help to relax. This is by far the most popular option, as it is very low risk and enjoyable for the patient.

In other circumstances, we can even offer treatment under General Anaesthesia, where conventional treatment and sedation options are not appropriate or where extensive treatments are required to be performed during one appointment. A Professional team including an Anaesthesiologist oversee the entire General Anaesthesia process.

At Melbourne Centre for Dentistry, our Dentists and Dental Hygienists recommend Regular Dental Maintenance (Check-up & Clean) Appointments.

For most patients, this means coming only twice per year for a check-up, unless anything out-of-the-ordinary happens, like breaking a tooth or a pesky wisdom tooth trying to appear. During this appointment, any normal build-up (Calculus, Tartar, Plaque, Bacteria) can be removed and any other issues can be spotted before they become problematic.

For ‘At-Risk’ Patients (i.e. those who are more likely to have issues arise), our Practitioners may recommend appointments every 3 or 4 months. This includes any patients who have recently had a procedure where Dental Implants were placed, those with Periodontal (gum) problems as well as patients with some Medical Conditions such as Diabetes. At-Risk Patients are more prone to issues arising and therefore our Dental Staff may recommend in the best interests of your well-being that you attend more frequently.

Whilst we try to be accommodating to Walk-In Appointments, first priority is generally given to patients who have booked their appointment in advance. We can offer Emergency/Urgent Appointments to patients with Dental Emergencies, but we do suggest calling the clinic ASAP to ensure the quickest possible appointment for you and to avoid long waiting times.

When you arrive, we will ask you to fill out a Medical History Form. Our Friendly Staff will be nearby to assist and answer any questions that you may have. This ensures that we have all of the necessary information to provide you with the Best Possible Treatment. One of our Friendly Dental Professionals will first speak with you, to discuss any dental concerns that you may have and clarify your Dental & Medical History.

If you have booked the appointment to focus on one particular issue (like a Tooth Ache or an Infection), we will focus primarily on this area for the appointment and may recommend an additional appointment for a Comprehensive Check-Up and Treatment Planning.

If you have no Immediate Issues, we will then do a Comprehensive Examination of your teeth, gums, tongue and jaw. The Current Condition of each tooth, including any pre-existing fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, veneers or other previous dental work will be noted. We’ll check to see that any previous dental work is still in good condition and advise you of any issues that we find present in the mouth, like decays, broken teeth or infections.

During the Examination, our Dental Professionals may recommend that some Radiographs (x-rays) be taken. Throughout the appointment, we will answer any questions that you may have about your Oral Health and any Hygiene Techniques you may want to clarify.

Your Dental Hygienist or Dentist may then Professionally Clean your teeth. We’ll discuss your Personalised Treatment Plan, created just for you, which will include more information about any Treatments recommended for you and the details of subsequent appointments. Our entire Team passionately believes in the importance of Good Oral Hygiene and are here to ensure that you have a fantastic experience when taking the first steps on your Oral Health Journey with us.
